NRG - CO2 = IT0

Network Resource Group (NRG) considers the effect of its personal carbon footprint to be a priority, treading carefully when it comes to the environmental consequences of the company’s actions. In an age of awareness regarding the drastic changes our planet is undergoing, each individual makes their mark on the environment’s future wellbeing, and businesses are partly responsible for a percentage of the harmful actions exhausting the limited resources we have. UK SMEs produce approximately 110 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Our unavoidable daily reliance on energy-consuming materials, from switching on a PC, to printing a document, to travelling to a meeting, is necessary, but is there a viable alternative that allows us all to continue our day-to-day business in an environmentally-friendly manner?

Over this past year we have embarked on a more ecologically sound path, implementing several green measures within the workplace, encompassing small changes in our day-to-day work routines as well as modifications on a larger scale, making a contribution that will reduce the carbon emissions of our company. We have taken into consideration how to continue delivering outstanding managed WAN solutions, ensuring they are in compliance with ISO 14064 and the mandatory Scopes One, Two and Three. Furthermore, we take our position as a service provider seriously and aim to manage of every aspect of what we deliver.

Scope One: As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we have assessed the level of emissions we emit, taking steps to reduce them to a manageable level. We have also designed a plan for their continued reduction offsetting unavoidable emissions in order to progress towards being a carbon-neutral company. We have also calculated the footprint of our managed services on your premises and have offset these so that you don’t have to.

By allowing Network Resource Group to host your services, you receive a cost-effective, environmentally-conscious service with every aspect managed for you. We accordingly impart our personal carbon neutrality to you, reducing the impact of your organisation’s carbon footprint, enabling you to consequently enjoy carbon-free IT without the hassle and administration on your part. This furthermore minimises costs in terms of financial gain as well as earning you a glowing reputation amongst both your community and sector.

Scope Two: We have observed our suppliers’ footprints and either worked with them on their impact on our service or taken them into account in our calculations.

Scope Three: We have assessed our employees’ travel to work and how our service impacts upon your company, factoring this into our offsetting.

It takes a firm commitment to participate in such a grand project, especially within the IT field, and we hope that our innovative undertaking encourages our customers to act likewise. By embarking on this project, we look forward to leading the way for IT businesses, whilst simultaneously guaranteeing a carbon-free service for our customers.

Ahead of governmental regulatory requirements, Network Resource Group works in compliance with several directives such as WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and local recycling schemes. Our cooperation with specialist certificated collaborators ensures we work with a carbon-free service on multiple levels. This year System Online has joined a government-backed DEFRA consultation document, defining the meaning of carbon neutrality. In addition, System Online has launched an initiative to advance towards a paperless workspace, converting all its documentation to digital form. The motivation for going green takes on various forms, from the reduced environmental impact, to the productivity gains and the financial benefits.

By working together with Network Resource Group you can be assured of a sensible approach to business, making decisions with the environment in mind.
